Blogwatch

Every once in a while, I'll stumble across a website that sparks my interest and I'll mean to write a post about it. Then I'll forget all about it and move on with my life. But this time, Juicy sent me a link that is truly unforgettable. Basically, it's a blog about interracial marriages/relationships, specifically between black women and white men.

The best part is the list of celebrity names on the sides with links to pictures of them and their partners. In the few times I visited this site, I learned quite a bit. I didn't know Whoopi Goldberg and Chris Noth were once an item (not sure if that's still the case), nor did I know that Clint Eastwood was married to a sistah. I shared one tidbit with my Mom, which got some surprising results:

"Hey, Mom? Did you know Stone Phillips is married to a black woman?"

"WHAAAAAT??!!" She sits upright in bed, eyes wild. "He's with us??!!! That's my man!! I always knew there was a reason I liked him!"

Anyway, check it out if you're like me and enjoy filling your brain with useless knowledge.

very interesting. i wonder if there's such a blog for hispanic women. so what do you think about this? i don't know that i've even considered dating a hispanic guy, at least since i've lived over here. where does one even meet a hispanic guy? i don't think i attract hispanic boys. my friend here tried to set me up with one and we had like zero chemistry. he was perfectly nice but i didn't find him interesting. i don't know. i went through a jewish phase in college. it actually lasted a really long time. then there was the english boy, the artiste, the republican, the minnesotan. wow, i'm totally rambling. your blog is definitely more interesting than mine today. bye!

Thanks for sharing this link s/c/w. Call me crazy, but I'm disgusted by this blogger's shameless propogation of traditional female roles of wife and mother. I mean really, if she's such a "black-womanist", she'd recognize that she is just as brainwashed as the black men & women she's criticizing. When are women gunna wake up & realize that we don't NEED to be shackled by wedding rings and screaming babies to be fulfilled and complete? Don't get me wrong, I love men, but damn!

Good point, L-Boogie. I hadn't thought about it that way.

SCW, this site was interesting. I read the sidebar and couldn't stop myself from snickering a bit, but I'm going to take a look at the actual site content, too.

Your mom's reactions was HILARIOUS, and I hadn't a clue about Stone Phillips, either! Or Clint Eastwood!

WOWWWW.
